A disc 32, Fig. 1, extending nearly to the circular periphery of the grease compartment 28 is provided to prevent dirt from reaching the ball-bearings 16 of a roller shaft past a felt ring 26. In a modification shown in Fig. 2, the dirt-excluding ring 48 forms one side of a housing for a felt ring 56 and the other side is formed by a ring 58 fitting tightly the roller end 40 which forms the housing, of the ballbearings 50. The ring 48 is formed as a flange to a sleeve 46 fitted on the roller shaft 44. The flange 48-may alternatively be on the inner side and the ring 58 on the outside of the felt ring 56.
