A video information pushing method and apparatus. The method comprises the following steps: acquiring multiple pieces of video recommendation information in batches in a form of compressed packages (S101), the video recommendation information being pushed by a third-party application, and the third-party application comprising an instant messaging application, a short message application, a recording application, a browser application or an email application in a local mobile terminal; decompressing the multiple pieces of video recommendation information, sorting the multiple pieces of video recommendation information according to a preset manner, and displaying the sorted multiple pieces of video recommendation information on a television end (S102); acquiring selection instruction information of one of the multiple pieces of video recommendation information (S103); detecting whether a connection to the Internet is available (S104); and when the connection to the Internet is available, searching for the selected video recommendation information directly by means of the Internet, displaying the search result on the television end, and updating found video data to a local video database (S105). The method makes the video information pushing more accurate, expands a search scope, and makes the search independent on a local database, thereby improving the user experience. |
