PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image generation apparatus etc. capable of grasping changes in brightness or hue of a display apparatus without using a colorimeter or the like.SOLUTION: An image generation apparatus 20 comprises: an image data generation unit 21 for generating image data on an evaluation image composed of first reference color and second reference color that are determined to be associated as a pair in a predetermined color space and first evaluation color determined with respect to the first reference color and second evaluation color determined with respect to the second reference color and differing from the first evaluation color, where the first evaluation color and second evaluation color are between the first reference color and second reference color; an image data output unit 22 for outputting the image data to a projector that is made to display the evaluation image; and a holding unit 23 for holding image data on first evaluation color and second evaluation color when brightness or hue of an image having the first evaluation color seems to be the same as that of an image having the second evaluation color in the evaluation image displayed by the projector.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
