A plant material and methodology for producing Bidens with any primary color or intermediate color, in unique petal coloration patterns are provided herein.

1. A Bidens plant comprising:
ray florets and disc florets, each ray floret having an upper surface divided into a plurality of regions; wherein the Bidens plant belongs to Bidens triplinervia or any progeny of Bidens triplinervia; and wherein a color of each region is controlled based on a region-by-region approach that crosses a Bidens plant comprising ray floret coloration and patterns according to the plurality of regions with a Bidens plant comprising or not comprising ray floret coloration and patterns according to the plurality of regions.
