PURPOSE: A liquid crystal aligning agent is provided to form a liquid crystal alignment film with improved resistance to solvents in case of using an organic solvent as washing liquid. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal aligning agent comprises a polymer which can be obtained by reacting polyorganosiloxane having a first functional group with a compound having two or more second functional groups to be combined with the first functional group. The polymer is present in an amount of 0.1 to 30 parts by weight with respect to 100.0 parts by weight of the total polymers contained in the liquid crystal aligning agent. The liquid crystal aligning agent includes one or more kinds of polymers selected from the group consisting of polyamic acid, polyamic acid ester, and polyimide. |
