PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a measurement time in measuring a cutoff wavelength of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for measuring a cutoff wavelength of an optical fiber that a longest wavelength, in which the ratio of power between a transmission light power P1 when a minimum bending of 280 mm in diameter is applied to the optical fiber 1 of 2 m in sample length and a transmission light power P2 when a minimum bending of 60 mm in diameter is applied to the optical fiber is equal to 0.1 dB, is defined as a cutoff wavelength. In the method, by using measurement data of one of the transmission light powers P1 and P2, a measurement wavelength range of the other of the transmission light powers P1 and P2 is determined. |
