520,849. Aerials. EDWARDS, J. G. MAITLAND-. Nov. 1, 1938, No. 31610. [Class 40 (v)]. An aerial comprises a plurality of dipole antennae a...d, each adapted for transmission or reception of one of a number of frequencies which are harmonically related and connected through a common V-dipole matching section mr, ml to a high or low impedance feeder. Each dipole is connected to the matching section at points which are voltage nodes for the frequency for which the dipole is intended. The matching section may be equilateral, a di-electric stretcher mb connecting the upper ends, and be disposed centrally. As shown, the dipole a for the lowest frequency supports those for higher frequencies by slidable tubular members 7 with locating stops 10 and dependent arms 8. Insulators 9 and spacing members 11 are provided for the individual antenna. Adjustable tension devices may be used to maintain parallelism and in some cases to allow for catenary deviation. |
