[Class 65 (i)] A local control for bulkhead &c. doors normally remotely controlled, comprises a slide valve 15 which in normal position, Fig. 4, connects pressure pipe 2 through passages 6, 5, 4 to the door-closing side of the motor, and in the locally-operated position, Fig. 5, connects 2 through passages 6, 5, 3 to the door-opening side of the motor. A local operating means being capable of moving the valve to Fig. 5 position where 2 is connected to pressure and 1 to exhaust by the remote control. If 1 is put on pressure and 2 on exhaust by the remote control, and pressure acting on the end 14 of the valve added to the action of the spring 18, prevents the local control from moving the valve. The local actuating means comprises a shaft 20 extending on each side of the bulkhead 21 and carrying an arm 19 engaging the valve. On each end the shaft carries an arm 24 adapted to be moved by a lever 22, 23 through a spring 25 which is strong enough to overcome the spring 18, but not 18 plus the pressure on 14. To overcome the latter, a plug 35 is used to connect 23 to 24 to form a rigid connection with 22. Specification 29310/11, [Class 65 (i)], is referred to. |
