A bracket assembly 10 comprising a bracket 12 having a first side 13a and a second side 13b. The bracket is mountable to a vehicle panel 18 on the first side, and being mountable to an auxiliary component, such as a grab handle, on the second side. The bracket assembly additionally comprises reinforcing means 14 arranged to abut the second side of the bracket. The bracket is deflectable away from the reinforcing means along a first direction and abutment between the second side of the bracket and the reinforcing means limits deflection of the bracket along a second direction that is opposite the first direction. The deflection may mitigate against injury in the case of a collision. |
