PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method of an Mg alloy, by which generation of a magnesium oxide in the casting can be made less than a conventional method.SOLUTION: A continuous casting method of a Mg alloy is provided for continuously producing a cast material 4 of the Mg alloy by supplying a molten metal 4' of the Mg alloy from a casting nozzle 2 to between a pair of movable casting molds 3, and rapidly solidifying the molten metal 4' between the pair of movable casting molds 3. In the continuous casting method of the Mg alloy, an outer circumference of the casting nozzle 2 is covered and an atmosphere of an internal space of the covered portion and an atmosphere of an external space of the covered portion are controlled so that both atmosphere can be made different from each other, then an inert gas is introduced into the internal space continuously, furthermore at least an oxygen concentration in a casting atmosphere in the vicinity of a pouring hole 21 of the casting nozzle 2 is monitored and the continuous casting is performed while constantly controlling the casting atmosphere by adjusting an amount of introduction of the inert gas based on the monitoring result. |
