The present invention relates to a method for continuously sterilizing a liquid product which comprises conducting a liquid product to be sterilized through a conduit, causing the temperature of the liquid product to increase by means of successive heat exchangers putting said liquid product in thermal contact with the already sterilized liquid; increasing the temperature of the liquid product to be sterilized to sterilization temperatures and maintaining them for a holding time sufficient to assure correct sterilization; the already sterilized liquid product is then cooled giving off part of its heat to the liquid to be sterilized by means of said successive heat exchangers; the liquid product is subsequently cooled to temperatures close to room temperature by means of heat exchange with water at room temperature; it is then cooled below room temperature by means of thermal contact with the liquid product to be sterilized; and it is finally cooled to the storage temperature by means of passage thereof through a second heat exchanger cooled by means of energy. |
