PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable acquisition of a large output signal, and a simple manufacturing of a magnetic sensor in a rotation angle detection device employing a magnetoresistance effect element.SOLUTION: The rotation angle detection device has: a magnet 10; and magnetoresistance effect elements 21 to 24. The magnet 10 is fixed to a rotor 11 rotating around a rotary shaft. The magnetoresistance effect elements 21 to 24 are provided, respectively, on a substrate 25 on two straight lines orthogonal at a rotary shaft position in a plane orthogonal to the rotary shaft of the rotor 11 and at four portions thereon with the same distance from the rotary shaft position, and change a resistance value in accordance with magnetic field intensity in the plane orthogonal to the rotary shaft, respectively. The magnetoresistance effect elements 21 to 24 are composed of an isotropic magnetoresistance effect element. The magnet 10 generates a magnetic filed in which the magnetic field in the plane orthogonal to the rotary shaft of the rotor 11 is asymmetric to one first plane including the rotary shaft and symmetric to a second plane including the rotary shaft and orthogonal to the first plane. |
