PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for selectively extracting hydrocarbon produced by hydrocarbon producing microorganisms, with a high yield even from aqueous slurry that contains a large amount of hydrocarbon producing microorganisms.SOLUTION: A method for producing hydrocarbon includes a heating process S1 for heating aqueous slurry that contains hydrocarbon producing microorganisms and hydrocarbon produced by the hydrocarbon producing microorganisms, at a temperature in a range of 45-150°C; a phase separating process S3 for separating the aqueous slurry after the heating process into a water phase and a phase that contains a microorganism-derived microorganism bodies and hydrocarbon, to acquire the phase that contains the microorganism bodies and hydrocarbon; and a hydrocarbon extraction process S4 for bringing an oily medium into contact with the phase that contains the microorganism bodies and hydrocarbon acquired in the phase separating process, to extract hydrocarbon in the oily medium. |
