Rail vehicle, drive unit for a rail vehicle and method for operating a rail vehicle

The vehicle (100) has outer drive units (110, 130) and an inner drive unit (120) arranged at a vehicle frame (102) concerning to a longitudinal axis (103). A coupling device (200) is arranged between the drive units i.e. bogies. The coupling device converts transverse displacement of the inner drive unit with respect to a neutral position at the longitudinal axis into steering movement such as rotation movement around a vertical axis, of the outer drive units and vice versa. The coupling device has partial hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic and/or electrical components e.g. steering units. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a rail vehicle.
