PURPOSE:To decrease quantity and pressure of fuel flowing from a second fuel passage to a first fuel passage when a spill valve is opened so as to rapidly open the spill valve by forming an inlet of fuel to be supplied from a fuel pump in the first fuel passage. CONSTITUTION:A unit injector is provided with a spill valve 15 to be operated by magnetic force of an electromagnet 14. An inlet of fuel to be supplied from a fuel pump is formed in a first fuel passage 30 between the spill valve 15 and a fuel tank. A pressure regulating valve 35 is disposed in the first fuel passage 30, to thus regulate a pressure of fuel in such a manner as to feed the fuel to a second fuel passage 10 interposed between a fuel injecting valve 13 and the spill valve 15 when the spill valve 15 is opened. Consequently, fuel injection is cut well, and a fuel injecting pressure becomes high. Furthermore, a shortened time from closure of the spill valve 15 until opening thereof can reduce the minimum flow rate of injected fuel. |
