The changeable adapter (1a) has an anvil portion (2) and punch portion (3) which are provided with die retainers (4a,4b) for holding integrated die half portions. Anvil and punch portions are provided with coupling regions (7a,7b) for releasably coupling die retainer with crimping machine, and are provided with a sensor for sensing crimping force or a crimping distance. Anvil and punch portions are provided with a protective cover made up of transparent or translucent material. The anvil and punch portions are guided by die retainer, during crimping process. An independent claim is included for crimping machine. |
