<p>523,548. Pressure gauges. ARCHBALD, R. H. Jan 4, 1939, No. 266. [Class 106 (ii)] A pressure-sensitive capsule particularly for negative pressures comprises a rigid disc 1 and a flexible diaphragm 2 secured around its edge the rigid disc having a rib or lip 4 arranged in such a manner as to leave a space between diaphragm and disc under balanced pressure. The diaphragm is flanged at 3 and the face of the disc as shown is concave but may be flat. The source of pressure is connected through passage ways 5, 6. In a modification the passage way is axial to the disc. In a further modification, the disc is provided with a diaphragm in each face and the passage ways arranged as in Fig. 3 but for two separate gauges or the passage ways 5 may be connected and the device form a single gauge.
