PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric oscillator and a photoelectric oscillation method which can be achieved with a further inexpensive configuration.SOLUTION: A photoelectric oscillator 100 includes an optical modulator 20, a dispersion medium 40, a photodetector 50 and a conductor wire 80. The optical modulator 20 includes a modulation electrode to which a modulation signal at a modulation frequency f[Hz] is applied, and modulates an optical signal outputted from a light source 10 by the modulation signal to output an optical signal with chirping. The dispersion medium 40 receives an input of the optical signal modulated by the optical modulator 20. The photodetector 50 receives the optical signal from the dispersion medium 40 and converts the signal component modulated at the modulation frequency fm into an electric signal. The conductor wire 80 inputs the electric signal converted by the photodetector 50, as a modulated signal at the modulation frequency f, to the modulation electrode of the optical modulator 20. |
