A fuel injection valve in which a valve body (13) is configured by: an annular valve section (13a) facing a valve seat (7); and a connecting tube section (13b) connected to the rear end of this valve section (13a) and to which a connecting end section (14a) of the front section of a connecting rod (14) fits and is joined. The connecting tube section (13b) has a journal section (13b1) that slidably fits on to the inner circumferential surface of a valve housing (3); an outside fuel passage (57) is formed in an annular shape so as to encompass the valve section (13a) and has a first cutout (50) that connects the outside fuel passage (57) to the fuel chamber (55), provided in the connecting tube section (13b); the inside of the valve section (13a) is formed into a tubular inside fuel passage (56) that connects to a nozzle hole (9) when the valve body (13) is open; and a second cutout (52) that connects this inside fuel passage (56) to the fuel chamber (55) is provided in the connecting end section (14a). As a result, the fuel passage around the valve body can be increased and the fuel injection amount can be increased, without increasing the open stroke of the valve body. |
