PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication device and a communication method that can appropriately obtain a signal output from an output unit.SOLUTION: A sensor unit 10 of a communication device 1 outputs a synchronization signal to synchronize a clock, a data signal output later than the synchronization signal, and an end signal for indicating the completion of a series of signals and output later than the data signal in this order, as an output signal Sd1. A measuring unit 551 measures the length of the received pulse. A signal determination unit 552 determines whether or not the received pulse is a synchronization signal on the basis of the length of the pulse. A signal acquisition unit 553 skips over the pulse if it is not determined that the received pulse is a synchronization signal, and reads pulses following the pulse to the end signal regarding them as the output signal Sd1 if it is determined that the received pulse is a synchronization signal.
