PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device capable of reducing generation of moire interference fringes due to interference between a disposition of light-shielding layer and a pixel pitch on a liquid crystal panel, and to provide a manufacturing method thereof and a light diffusion member.SOLUTION: The display device 10 includes: a base material which has light transmission properties; plural light-shielding layers which are formed at a repeated intervals on one surface of the base material; and a light diffusion part which is formed in an area excluding the area where is formed with the light-shielding layer on the one surface of the base material. The light diffusion part has a light-emitting end surface at the base material side and a light-entrance end surface of an area larger than the area of the light-emitting end surface at the side opposite to the base material side. The height from the light-entrance end surface of the light diffusion part to the light-emitting end surface is larger than the thickness of the light-shielding layer. The direction of the intervals of the light-shielding layer which are repeatedly formed and the direction of the pixel pitch on the display element are not parallel to each other.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
