The present invention relates to a method for providing information using an image recognition technique configured to comprise an image recognition server, a web server and a DB server which are connected to a mobile terminal through a network. The method comprises the steps of: transmitting an image obtained by the mobile terminal or an image pattern value extracted from the obtained image to the image recognition server; if the image recognition server receives the image from the mobile terminal, extracting the image pattern value, and if the image pattern value was directly received, searching for an image pattern value similar to a pre-registered image pattern value; transmitting, by the image recognition server, an image code value which is a search result value to the web server directly or through the mobile terminal; and finding, by the web server, a code value for promotion and a code value for shopping registered in the received image code value, and transmitting, to the mobile terminal, information for promotion materials registered in the code value for promotion or URL information for a shopping mall registered in a code value for the shopping mall, and so on. |
