PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce communication cost between a centralized control apparatus of an air conditioner and a management server.SOLUTION: A monitoring system for an air conditioner includes a centralized control apparatus 3 connected to the air conditioner, and communication means (a radio adapter) 4 for performing radio communication with a mobile terminal 5. When the mobile terminal enters the communication zone of the communication means, radio communication with the mobile terminal is automatically started through the communication means, and operation information for the air conditioner is transmitted from the centralized control apparatus to the mobile terminal. Also, when the mobile terminal enters the communication zone of a wide area radio communication base station of the mobile terminal after receiving the operation information for the air conditioner from the centralized control apparatus and storing the operation information in the mobile terminal, the mobile terminal automatically starts communication with a management server for managing the air conditioner and transmits the stored operation information for the air conditioner to the management server.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
