The present invention provides a method and apparatus for handling a virtualized network function (VNF) service fault, used for solving the problem of impossibility in quick association and location of a VNF service fault and a network function virtualization infrastructure (NFVI) resource when a service or application fault is found by a traditional element management system (EMS) under a network function virtualization (NFV) system. The present invention comprises: acquiring service fault information sent by a VNF element, the service fault information carrying an identifier of a first virtual machine in which a fault occurs, wherein the first virtual machine is a virtual machine configured for the VNF element by a virtualized network function manager (VNFM) (S21); acquiring, according to a pre-saved mapping relationship between an identifier of a virtual machine and NFVI resource information, first NFVI resource information corresponding to the identifier of the first virtual machine (S22); and determining, according to the first NFVI resource information, a device in which a fault occurs (S23). Embodiments of the present invention enable a user to quickly locate, according to a VNF service fault, a device in which a fault occurs. |
