526,635. End-catchers for spinning-machines. GESSNER AKT.-GES., E. March 23, 1939, No. 9195. Convention date, March 28, 1938. [Class 120 (ii)] Ring spinning frames are provided with mechanism for catching broken ends of threads or yam, which consists of a pair of rollers 9 arranged below the supply rollers 6 and driven at the same peripheral speed, and a trough 10 having a floor formed by a belt conveyer 14 working on rollers 15. Springs 17 hold the rollers 9 in yielding contact, and rubbers 12 engage the roller surfaces. The thread 4 is fed through the twist tube 5 to the supply rollers 6 and the guide 7 to the spindle. When a thread breaks the end from the rollers 6 swings to the rollers 9, is gripped by them and passed into the trough 10. When the thread has been spliced the loose piece is carried by the conveyer 14 under inclined resilient plates 18. These form it into small bundles which readily drop from the conveyer into a receptacle at the end of the trough.
