[Class 89 (i)] [Also in Group XXII] A two-piece anchor nut comprises a flanged nut and base having nut securing portions bent up from opposite sides of the base and recessed to engage the flange portions of the nut in such manner as to allow limited relative motion under pre-determined pressure produced by deforming the flange engaging portions. The base 10 is apertured at 14 and has lugs 26 bent up at 24 to engage flange portions 40 on the nut. The bent-up lugs are deformed at g, Fig. 4a, to provide a pre-determined pressure between the engaging members. In a modification the nut flange is formed with corner portions 62, Fig. 8 and the base has T-shaped lugs 52 bent up as shown and deformed by pressure on the ends 60 at h. In other forms the base instead of being secured to the member to be bolted on each side of the nut as at 20, 22, Fig. 8, has a lug for attachment on one side only, either in the plane of the base or at right angles thereto. In a further modification, the base has a tubular projection for eyeleting to the member. |
