<p>530,741. Heating by electric induction. ELECTRIC RESISTANCE FURNACE CO., Ltd., and MILLAR, W. J. June 29, 1939, No. 19014. [Class 39 (iii)] Wire coils 18 or other metal articles are annealed by passing them continuously or step by step on a conveyer band 12 through an electromagnetic induction heating chamber 2 and a cooling chamber 12, both of which contain a protective atmosphere. The heater has a fixed yoke 3 and a vertically movable core 7 with an energizing coil 9, and limbs 6, 8 which embrace a coil 18 when the core is in its raised position. The conveyer is formed of two spaced parts or is perforated to permit the upward movement of the core. The cooling chamber may consist of a bath of cooling liquid.</p> |
