Capsule (2, fig 1) suitable for the preparation of a beverage including an aluminium body (12) with a central axis (12A), a bottom (18), a side wall 16, an outwardly extending flange 20, and an aluminium cover (14) attached to the flange. The flange includes a sealing member 28, which further includes at least one projection 50/51. The projection includes a projection top, and the projection is configured such that if the capsule is positioned in an enclosing section 6 of a beverage preparation device and the enclosing section is closed, the projection top exerts a radial force on the end of an annular element (41, fig 2) on the enclosing section. The sealing member may include two projections 50, 51 with a plateau 52 between, and may also be deformable. It should be understood the plateau may in fact include a curved portion or may be V-shaped (see e.g. figures 4B, 4F). The inner surface of the capsule may be provided with an inner coating and the outer surface be provided with a colour lacquer. |
