When a catalytic converter is to be warmed up, a required efficiency (·tag) for internal combustion engine control is set to a value within a range of less than 1, 1 representing a value when the conversion catalyst is not to be warmed up. The value is increased with an increase in delay of an open-close timing (VT) of an intake valve (steps S130 to S160). A delayed amount of a target ignition timing (IT*) is decreased with an increase in required efficiency (·tag closer to the value 1; steps S170 and S180). |
