PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crushing test apparatus and a crushing test method, capable of controlling a pressing speed without causing overshooting of a pressing force, and acquiring highly reproducible data.SOLUTION: A crushing test apparatus 1 includes: a pressing plate 13 that presses a battery; a drive unit 3 that generates a drive force for moving the pressing plate 13; a control unit 4 that controls the drive unit 3; and a pressure sensor 5 that detects a pressing force with which the pressing plate 13 presses the battery. The control unit 4 is configured to perform: displacement speed control of controlling the drive unit 3 to make the pressing plate 13 move in a predetermined moving speed in a direction of pressing the battery; and load control of controlling the pressing plate 13 to press the battery at a predetermined magnitude or more of a pressing force. The control unit 4 switches the displacement speed control to the load control when receiving a signal, related to the predetermined magnitude or more of a pressing force, from the pressure sensor 5. |
