PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress unfavorable noise and vibration while maintaining small input torque and high responsiveness of a reverse input cutoff clutch.SOLUTION: An internal combustion engine includes a variable compression ratio mechanism that can change a mechanical compression ratio by relatively displacing a cylinder block and a crankcase. The variable compression ratio mechanism includes an operation element, an input actuator, and a reverse input cutoff clutch. By moving the operation element, the mechanical compression ratio is changed. A relative displacement suppressor 90 capable of suppressing relative displacement between the cylinder block 2 and the crankcase 1 is installed between the cylinder block and the crankcase. Actuation and stop of the relative displacement suppressor 90 are selectively switched. |
