PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating liquid which is applied to a porous substrate to form a coating layer excellent in heat resistance, adhesion to an electrode, and air permeability, is low in environmental load, and is capable of sufficiently maintaining productivity of a battery separator and characteristics of a battery using the separator.SOLUTION: The coating liquid contains an aqueous emulsion of an electrolyte-swellable organic polymer and inorganic particles. The coating liquid further contains one of ammonia, an amine derivative, and a mixture of ammonia and an amine derivative in an amount of 1 to 10000 ppm inclusive. |
