PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick steel plate production method with excellent surface quality which prevents generation of arabesque-like patterns.SOLUTION: Descaling which is performed by completion of a final pass from the fourth pass before the final pass of hot rolling and has collision pressure equal to or more than 0.4 MPa is performed so that the i th and (i+1)th descaling is performed in tandem where a time interval &Dgr;tis adjusted to satisfy 90>1.34×10×exp(-28568/T)×(t+-t), and the hot rolling is limited so that accumulated rolling reduction from the fourth pass before the final pass to the completion of the final pass is equal to or more than 30%. |
