The thread-cutting assembly has two pair of a lower-sided workpiece-clamping bodies (11b) and an upper-sided workpiece-clamp (9b) which are designed for clamped holding of a workpiece (29) between the workpiece-clampng bodies and the workpiece-clamp. A thread-cutting blade and a thread-counterblade are formed, so that they cooperate in an eyelet-stitching area. The thread-cutter is arranged above the former workpiece-clamping body. The thread-counterblade is arranged below the latter workpiece-clamping body. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) a sewing machine for sewing the eyelets and for sewing bottonholes; and (2) a method for manufacturing an eyelet with a sewing machine. |
