In a reflective liquid crystal display device, a space where a pixel electrode is not provided between adjacent pixels causes a decrease in proportion of a display region in a pixel (i.e., aperture ratio). As a result, the reflective liquid crystal display device has a problem in that contrast and luminance of display images are decreased. An object is to provide a liquid crystal display device which displays an image with high contrast and high luminance. In the liquid crystal display device, an end portion of a pixel electrode is provided to overlap with an end portion of an adjacent pixel electrode with an insulating layer interposed therebetween so that a space between adjacent pixels is narrowed; thus, the proportion of a display region in a pixel is increased. |
