PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheath material for a lithium ion battery which improves adhesion with a base material layer, has sufficient scratch resistance and electrolyte resistance, has high drawability and moldability and is capable of maintaining the electrolyte resistance even after drawing.SOLUTION: In a sheath material 1 for a lithium ion battery, a base material protection layer 18, a third adhesive layer 17, a base material layer 11, a first adhesive layer 12, a metal foil layer 13, a corrosion prevention treatment layer 14, a second adhesive layer 15 and a sealant layer 16 are laminated in this order. The base material protection layer 18 contains: water soluble polysaccharide (A) which is dissolved in 1 mass% or more in water or an alcohol aqueous solution containing alcohols in 100 mass% at 85°C; and, other than polysaccharide, a water-soluble polymer (B) which is dissolved in 1 mass% or more in water or an alcohol aqueous solution containing alcohols in 100 mass% at 85°C and of which the molecular weight is 10,000 or more, a plasticizer (C) and a surfactant (D). |
