A storage container 10 comprising a body 12 including a sidewall 18 projecting upwardly from a bottom wall terminating at a peripheral rim 20, a removable lid 14 including a rigid portion 24 and flexible sealing lip (26, figure 3) engaging at least one of the sidewall or a peripheral rim of the container body, a first venting aperture 30a, a first latch 40a including a gripping 42a and a sealing portion removably securing the lid and covering the first venting aperture. The container may comprise a handle 45a, a second venting aperture and latch 40b including a gripping 42b and sealing portion. The first latch may be rotationally connected to the lid via a pin and snap over the peripheral rim, the sealing portion include a sealing protrusion 48a closing the first aperture, the flexible sealing lip include a wiper or compression seal and first and second connector members matingly engaged. A method comprising filling a container body 12, covering with a lid 14 hinged to a rotating latch 40a covering a venting aperture 30a, securing said latch to a container rim 20, rotating the latch to uncover the aperture. The method may include placing the container in a microwave. |
