PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a turbine rotary shaft sealing method capable of preventing leakage of steam of a low-boiling-point medium to the outside while suppressing degradation in the performance of a binary power generation system when in use in the binary power generation system.SOLUTION: A method of sealing a rotary shaft of a turbine for use in binary power generation using steam of a low-boiling-point medium as a working fluid is provided. The turbine includes: a casing; the rotary shaft penetrating the casing; an impeller fixed to the rotary shaft; a bearing rotatably supporting the rotary shaft within the casing; and a mechanical seal member arranged on an outer circumferential surface of the rotary shaft on each of two axial ends of a portion located within the casing. A cooling liquid is circulated in the casing of the turbine, and a supply pressure of the cooling liquid into the casing is set lower than a pressure of the steam of the low-boiling-point medium for rotating the impeller. |
