PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digestion tank which is used for anaerobically fermenting organic waste such as sewage sludge and food waste and in which low-power operation and digestion efficiency preservation are made compatible.SOLUTION: A method for operating the digestion tank 100, which includes a digestion tank body 1, an agitator 2 for agitating the sludge thrown in the digestion tank body 1, and a warming unit 4 for warming the sludge, comprises a step of operating the agitator 2 to increase agitation intensity when a ratio of the amount of the digested gas generated in the digestion tank body 1 to the amount of the sludge thrown in the digestion tank body 1 becomes lower than a predetermined value and temperature difference of the sludge in the digestion tank body 1 becomes another predetermined value or higher. |
