Disclosed is a peristaltic pump for medical purposes, comprising a pump casing in which a tube accommodation chamber is formed in which a pump head is rotatably mounted, and a tube unit adapted to be inserted in the tube accommodation chamber such that a tube of the tube unit is engaged with the pump head in a manner to encompass same at least partially. For this purpose, a tensioning device is arranged at the pump casing, said tensioning device cooperating with the tube unit so as to tension the tube around the pump head on operation thereof. In accordance with the invention, the tensioning device comprises a lever mechanism, wherein preferably a lever element of the lever mechanism simultaneously forms or comprises a protective cap for at least partially covering the tube accommodation. |
