A rotatable sole assembly suitable for a shoe comprises a first plate 305, a second plate 320; and a coating layer 330 between the first 305 and second 320 plates. The coating layer 330 is configured to rotate one of the plates with respect to the other. The first and second plates 305, 320 are adhered to respective slabs 310, 325 which are formed of typical mid sole material. The coating layer 330 is a suitable lubricant such as graphite powder. Each plate has a hole at the central region which accommodates a plastic grommet 315. The sole assembly is designed to reduce ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament) injuries as well as the incidence of other lower leg injuries related to high torque forces. |
