PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for accurately evaluating ultraviolet protection performance of an ultraviolet protecting cosmetic.SOLUTION: A method for evaluating an ultraviolet protecting cosmetic comprises the steps of: 1) measuring the distribution of ultraviolet transmission light intensity in a plane direction of a substrate coated with no ultraviolet protecting cosmetic; 2) coating the substrate with an ultraviolet protecting cosmetic, and, after the coating, measuring the distribution of ultraviolet transmission light intensity in the plane direction; and 3) dividing transmission light intensity at a specific position in the distribution of ultraviolet transmission light intensity after the coating of the ultraviolet protecting cosmetic by transmission light intensity at the same position in the distribution of ultraviolet transmission light intensity before the coating of the ultraviolet protecting cosmetic. By applying this operation to all measurement regions in the substrate, the method calculates the distribution of ultraviolet transmittance in a plane direction of a coating film of the ultraviolet protecting cosmetic. |
