A power generating device (100) includes: a power generating unit (1); an inductor (L); a switch (SW) connected to the inductor (L) in series; and a control circuit (3). The power generating unit (1) includes: a piezoelectric element (11); and an upper electrode (112) and a lower electrode (113) formed on surfaces of the piezoelectric element (11). The inductor (L) is electrically connected to the upper electrode (112) and the lower electrode (113) in parallel, the inductor (L) and a capacitance component of the piezoelectric element (11) constituting a resonance circuit. The control circuit (3) has a driving mode and a rest mode. In the driving mode, the control circuit (3) controls the switch (SW) to be in the ON state in synchronism with a timing at which the voltage generated in the piezoelectric element (11) becomes an extreme value. In the rest mode, the control circuit (3) controls the switch (SW) to be in the OFF state at the timing at which the voltage generated in the piezoelectric element (11) has the extreme value. The control circuit (3) performs the control of the rest mode during the control of the driving mode when the frequency of the vibration corresponds to the natural frequency of the power generating unit. |
