PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel MgSi porous body which is composed of essentially Si alone or a composite of Si and MgSi and has three-dimensionally continued voids within it.SOLUTION: An MgSi type porous body (0≤x≤1.6) is composed of essentially Si alone or a composite of Si and MgSi and has three-dimensionally continued voids within it. The MgSi type porous body is obtained by heating MgSi under reduced pressure to remove the Mg. The body before and/or after heating may be cleaned with an acid. |
