PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a renewal method for a passenger conveyor that is used to install a newly-installed truss in an inner space of an existing truss, which allows truss segments composing the newly-installed truss to be carried easily, and moreover causes little trouble in a process of carrying the truss segments.SOLUTION: The renewal method for a passenger conveyor performs steps of: attaching, with a newly-installed truss being divided into a plurality of truss segments 30, a plurality of carriers 4, which can be arranged on the upper surface of an existing truss 1, to each truss segment 30 in a process of sequentially installing the truss segments 30 in the inner space of the existing truss 1; and carrying each truss segment 30 while moving the plurality of carriers 4 along the upper surface of the existing truss to complete the newly-installed truss. The carriers 4 comprise a sledge member 43 slidable along the upper surface extending in the longitudinal direction of the existing truss 1. |
