1. A process for producing an ethylene polymer or copolymer which contains less than 5 ppm titanium and has a bulk density, in granular form, of at least 22.5 lbs/ft3, said process comprising contacting, under polymerization conditions, ethylene and at least one alpha-olefin, and a spheroidal Ziegler-Natta type olefin polymerization catalyst having a particle size distribution characterized by a Dm*/Dn of less than 3.0 and a mass average diameter Dm of from 5 to 100 μm, wherein said catalyst comprises:
i) a titanium metal compound, wherein at least 80% of said titanium metal compound is in the Ti3+ valence state; ii) an aluminum compound; and iii) a spheroidal magnesium chloride support, wherein the magnesium chloride support comprises particles with a mass average diameter Dm of from 10 to 100 μm, and a particle size distribution characterized by a Dm/Dn of less than 3.0. |
