PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip resistor that has a wide, flat terminal electrode on its surface and is highly reliable in connection of a surface electrode and a terminal electrode.SOLUTION: A chip resistor according to the invention, comprises: an insulation substrate 1 of rectangular parallelepiped shape; a pair of surface electrodes 2 provided at both end parts of the surface of the insulation substrate 1 in a long-side direction; a resistor 3 provided between both the surface electrodes 2; an insulating protective layer 4 that covers the entire surface of both the surface electrodes 2 and the resistor 3; and a pair of terminal electrodes 5 provided at both end faces of the insulating substrate 1 in the long-side direction. A surface electrode 2 sandwiched between the insulating substrate 1 and the protective layer 4 is respectively exposed from the end faces of the short side and long side of the insulating substrate 1, and a terminal electrode 5 is extended to both end faces of the insulating substrate 1 in the short-side direction and connected to the exposed part of the surface electrode 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
