PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic control device that improves performance while securing safety when performing route plan computation necessary for the driving support technique and the automatic driving technique by speculative execution.SOLUTION: An electronic control device includes a plurality of computation units for performing control computation on the basis of at least one input from the outside. The plurality of computation units include a first computation unit for computing a case where safety requirements regarding safety are not satisfied, and a second computation unit for computing a case where the safety requirements are satisfied. The electronic control device also includes: a first prediction unit and a second prediction unit that predict future states of a control object on the basis of control computation results output from the first computation unit and second computation unit; an evaluation unit that evaluates safety of the control computation results at the first computation unit and second computation unit on the basis of amounts representing the future states of the control object; and a selection unit that selects a result satisfying the safety requirements from the control computation results on the basis of the evaluation result by the evaluation unit and outputs it as a computation result of the electronic control device.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
