PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a gas generator which achieves lighter weight than a conventional gas generator while having sufficient strength.SOLUTION: A gas generator 100 includes: a housing 10; a holder 20 attached to an opening end at one side of the housing 10; and a closing member 12 which is attached to the other end part of the housing 10 so as to close the other opening end of the housing 10. The housing 10 comprises a long cylindrical member having openings at both axial ends and made of a fiber-reinforced member molded by using a thermosetting resin or a thermoplastic resin and a fiber bundle or a fiber yarn. Gas jetting ports 11 are provided on a peripheral wall near an end part at a side of the housing 10 to which the closing member 12 is attached. The gas jetting ports 11 are holes for jetting a gas generated in the gas generator 100 to the outside and provided along a circumferential direction and an axial direction of the housing 10.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
