[Class 12 (i)] A cage for roller bearings comprises a pressed one-piece sheet-metal cylinder 1 with cruciform apertures for the rollers, the portions 13 between the rollers being doubled so that the corner pieces 11 overlap the rollers and retain them in position radially. The cage blanks are first shaped as in Fig. 2, and the parts 13 are doubled up after assembly of the rollers. If the inner race ring has side flanges 5, the parts 13 project radially inwardly, but if the outer race ring has side flanges the parts 13 project radially outwardly.</p> |
